Open CPD courses
We are running a selection of outdoor learning CPD sessions throughout 2019 focused on multiple Outdoor learning topics in Primary education. Check out the list of courses available below – we shall be launching dates for shortly.
Managing challenging behaviour in the outdoors – Dates TBC
A two day course focused on sharing strategies for those working with children in the outdoors who may present challenging behaviour. We explore the science behind behaviour, building a background, establishing connections and de-escalating. Much of the course is delivered through practical activities and problem solving.
Gaining traction – encouraging outdoor practice in my setting – Dates TBC
A one day practical sharing opportunity for those associated or interested in encouraging outdoor learning in their environment. This seminar encourages sharing of ideas and good practice while giving great ideas on how to encourage other teachers and practitioners to engage in learning beyond the classroom.
Getting them muddy – Starting the outdoor journey – Dates TBC
I love the idea of using the outdoors as a tool for learning, but where do I start?
On this 2 day course we look at different ideas to start the process of learning beyond the classroom. On day one Seosamh will share some established activities he loves and his stories of starting the process, barriers to the journey and success stories. Participants will get a chance to work with other professionals to create some great start points. Using a selection of basic resources available in the outdoors, you will be encouraged to create model activities to take back and begin your journey.
